L'Iliade has undergone a complete refit in Malta in 2006. L'Iliade is now fitted out with a new teak deck, wooden masts, steering system, tanks, engine, etc, etc.
Theo Rye, (naval architect) made all the drawings for the rig and the fittings to make an exact copy of the original sail plan dating back to 1935. The main mast is the old mast of Hallowe'en and has been converted to suit the original sail plan.
Mizzen mast and booms have been made by Collars, Freeland Yacht Spars, in the UK and completed and fitted in France at Russo Yachting. The fittings were made by Bruno from Alesage Service in Stainless steel 314 A4. L'Iliade is now ready for years of trouble free sailing!
Have a look at the pictures below to get an impression of the work that has been done on L`Iliade.
